I loved the end result of this book, but it took a little while for it to hit it's stride for me (about 25%). After that point I loved the characters and the story.

Friction edition by LD Davis Literature Fiction eBooks Reviews
This was my first read by Author L.D. Davis. I found this book on audible and decided to give it a try.
This was a great story!! The characters were amazing and the plot was unique.
I loved the chemistry between Noa and Alden. It was that slow delicious burn with a mixture of cat and mouse.
Alden is the lead singer of a rock band and wears the title perfectly!
He's cocky, arrogant, and too sexy for his own good.
When Noa is trampled at Alden's concert the last things she expects is to have the hip thruster himself come to her rescue but he does and after that she just can't seem to shake him.
I listened to this on audiobook and the narration was great!!
I found this book because I was actually searching for Narrator Teddy Hamilton who appears in the book towards the end.
Samantha Prescott is the female narrator and was AWESOME!!
I tend to steer away from single POV narration because I love hearing a male and female POV. However, the female narrator really did a FANTASTIC job.
She kept me intrigued from the beginning until the end! Female narrator tells about 90% of the story.
Definitely Recommend
4.8 Rocking Stars
Firstly, if you are looking for a read similar to the author's previous series Accidentally On Purpose, rest assured this book is not it. This is a departure from that series but is just as incredibly well written, nonetheless. This is the start of a new series and it begins with a rousing guitar riff. Meet Alden Breck, the cocky and overly self-assured frontman of Friction and Noa Eddington, the woman who finds him irritating and could definately live without ever meeting him. Fate intervenes and bring these two together when Noa was almost trampled by fans at a Friction concert that she was dragged to. Alden feels responsible and makes a nuisance of himself by continuing to appear in Noa's life. These two butt heads and swap barbs throughout the first half of the book although they are obviously physically attracted to each other. There are times when I wished that Noa would just cut Alden a break and that Alden would quit being so full of himself, but the second half of the book shifted the whole tenor of the book. Things begun to take on a more serious tone as both their pasts unfolded. Turns out that there is more to this couple under all that facade and bravado. Noa's keeping secrets and Alden is much more than a self-involved, superficial rockstar. For me, the second half of the book was my favorite as each of the central characters were stripped, and their true selves were revealed, as they both fell in love. Be warned that this book even though a romantic story, with some humorous light moments that it also deals with some serious topics during the telling of the story like addiction and abuse. What was also particularly affirming and gratifying for me, was watching Noa own her situation and fight for her future as well as watching Alden become more than just a 1 dimensional rockstar.
Friction rules.
Oh this book. It started out well enough. Noa and her girlfriend are front row at a Friction concert. While most of the girls are screaming for lead singer, Alden, Noa is unimpressed with his cocky performance. Unimpressed turns into seriously perturbed when she's injured in a fangirl stampede to touch Alden when he hops off the stage to show the fans his pelvic thrusts.
Alden is immediately smitten with Noa and her b**chy attitude. At first I thought it was rather amusing but it got old. Alden finally convinces Noa to join him to be his date on a nine-week charity tour. She's an author so the publicity is also good for her own career.
One main thing I didn't like was the fact that even though Alden was trying to woo Noa (they got to second base quite often) he still had no qualms about nailing groupies and didn't care if Noa knew it. I tried to have the attitude of 'if she didn't care then I shouldn't either' but they'd make out, she'd stop him, he'd "go out", then he would come back and sleep in the bed with her. It was kind of gross in my opinion.
Noa had her secrets. I thought they were interesting enough to save the story. I liked the way they were revealed in the end. They gave the story a touch of originality.
I wrinkled my nose a lot but all in all the story wasn't half bad. Not Davis's best but it was okay.
I loved the end result of this book, but it took a little while for it to hit it's stride for me (about 25%). After that point I loved the characters and the story.
